Problem:
GPX Asset Management, based in Guam, faced significant challenges in managing a massive and complex asset portfolio of 250,000 fixed assets. Their previous systems struggled with real-time tracking, reporting, depreciation, and inventory management. With over 9.5 million fields of data in use (out of a potential 31 million), the sheer volume created operational bottlenecks. Locating assets, generating reports, and conducting inventories required extensive manual effort, multiple report sorting, and frequent office visits. The slow response times hindered productivity and increased operational costs, including travel and labor.

Solution:
GPX partnered with Asset Vue to build a high-performance asset management environment capable of handling enormous datasets efficiently. Asset Vue’s solution included:
- Real-time synchronization across desktop and mobile applications
- Customizable dashboards to meet end-user requirements while handling over 100 asset fields
- Rapid scanning and identificationvia asset tags or serial numbers, allowing immediate action
- Streamlined inventory processes, enabling hundreds of assets to be counted per day
- Flexible reporting tools, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy
Asset Vue worked closely with GPX from the beginning, taking time to understand their requirements, demonstrate capabilities, and develop tailored solutions. The close collaboration ensured that complex data mapping and operational challenges were addressed before full deployment.
Result:
The Asset Vue implementation led to substantial efficiency gains and cost savings:
- Asset search/scanning time dropped from ~30 seconds to ~0.5 seconds per asset
- Inventory completion reduced from approximately 1 week to 3–4 days, covering 400–500 assets daily
- Inventory report generation went from 1 week to 30 minutes, allowing GPX to deliver results to stakeholders faster
- Operational costs decreased, including gas savings from reduced travel (~$200 per school visit)
- Enhanced real-time visibility, enabling immediate asset identification and decision-making
